Dear AvantCard (Dress 128)

Dear Avantcard,
You're freaking awesome. I have a stack of postcards from you, and when I get bored with my room instead of doing huge alterations I just re-do my postcard board. Here in its' new incarnation, a rainbow(ish):

There isn't really an explicit link between the board and the dress, but I was trying to find a swimsuit (now that they are cheap) because I left mine behind in Israel, and I saw awesome monokinis (which is such a ridiculous name) and one of the postcards is a autumnal tree that looks like it's on fire.
The colours came out too bright- i wanted them much more muted.
All my love,
IP

Dearest Irit (Dress 97)

Dearest Irit,
You are adorably frightened of ferris wheels.
You are also my aunt. There may or may not be pictures of six-year-old-ip holding your hand and smiling as you scream your lungs out at Luna Park....
I ought to toddle off to bed, but just a quick update:
Onto book 4 of the 365series.
It looks like there will be 12, maybe 13? depends on how many 10dress penalties I have to do. So exciting to line them up like this! It really looks possible.
All my love,
IP

Dear Long Hair (Dress 58)

Dear Long Hair,
I've been growing you for what feels like forever, and for the first time in my life i've mastered the art of french braiding.
Today's dress (coupled with a shift to dresses of a more temperature regulatory nature) is really rather self explanitory.
(Dress specs: One-off dresses made to fit. fabric segments can be anything, preferably within one colour group or seasonal segment, but rainbow is an option. The zip runs down the 'part' at the back.)

Dear Law Lounge (Dress 45)

Dearest Law Lounge,
The lights on the Law Lounge Ceiling are switched on in a random configuration, sunk into square sockets- it's pretty without being intrusive, I wanted this dress to have patches of warm light (the spots are mesh/see through when lit) without being intensely radiant.

(LEDs in removable round attatchments, cotton and elastic-underdress.)

Dear 13-Year old IP (Dress 36)

Dearest 13 Year old IP,
You thought it would be a good idea to paint your ceiling lots of different colours, didn't you. Well you weren't prepared for the angsty bland years of 15yearold mopeydom, or the minimalism-crazy year that followed that, or the antique-minimalist-colour-happy-oversaturated strangeness that remains, were you.
Oh well. It still looks pretty interesting if you don't really focus or have particularly refined taste.
(Dress specs: one piece of dark purple cotton blend for the sleeves-under-bust-curve routine, and scraps into a corset-belt, lavender cotton all the way down. For a picnic or small child's birthday party.)

Dear Mondrian (Dress 34)

Dearest Mondrian,
I meant today's dress to be a subtle tribute- it turned out just kinda silly; but I think it'd be a nice summer staple. Light cotton with white lining.

Dearest Frankie (Dress 17)

Dearest Frankie,
You're whimsical and fun, and unfortunately, you always run off the shelves so fast that i can't have a quick scan of the sweet and the silly. Oh well.
As summery weather quickly deserts us, here is the last of the spring picnic frocks.

(Cotton with applique in fabric and ribbon.)

Dear Melbourne Weather,

Dear Melbourne Weather,
You're crazy and wild and wonderful. And when I saw piles of golf-ball sized hailstones piled up against the RMIT facade I knew you'd pop up in my designs at some point this week. All mixed in with the sweet pollockequeness of this exhibition by Julia Chiang:
(via designboom)

Comes on cotton, and could be done in particular colour groups (autumny colours, pastels, straight blues etc.)
Goodnight,
All my love,
